Educator.
Born at Dudley, Staffordshire, England on 30 September 1901, son of John W. Jewkes (1874-1969) and Arabella Phillips (1875-1971), he accompanied his family to Canada in 1903. He grew up in Saskatchewan and became a teacher, with his service including a Principalship of Wingham School (1926-1929). He married Edna May Mason (1903-?) and had three children, one of whom was Dorothy Violet Jewkes (1926-2016, wife of L. Saylor). A long-time resident at Shelbrook, Saskatchewan, he moved to Hussar, Alberta around 1970 and died there on 3 January 1971. Burial followed at Royal Oak Burial Park in Vancouver, British Columbia.
