Banker, businessman.
Born in 1886 and educated in Montreal and England, he began working for the Bank of British North America at London, Ontario where he completed his education. He then moved to the Bank of Montreal where, in April 1928, he had risen to the position of Inspector of Manitoba branches when he quit to join the staff of James Richardson and Sons as the right-hand-man to James Armstrong Richardson. At Richardson's death in 1939, he became his executor and President of Macleods Limited. He was also Chairman of the Board of Westeel Products Limited.
He and wife Ida Granger (1884-1977) had two daughters: Pamela Hutchins (wife of Thomas H. Orr) and Phyllis Hutchins (wife of William E. Moore). The family lived at 232 Yale Avenue.
He died at London, Ontario on 29 July 1965 and was buried in the Saint Johns Cemetery at Arva, Ontario.
