Mariner.
He accompanied his father Zachariah Gillam on The Bachelor’s Delight to Nelson River in 1682, survived the shipwreck of the Prince Rupert that killed his father, and was captured by the French. Upon his return to New England he was imprisoned for interloping but was exonerated.
