Memorable Manitobans: Selby Victor Fordham (1888-1959)

Municial official.

Born in England, he came to Canada in 1906 and moved to Ochre River, Manitoba in 1919. For 21 years he was Secretary-Treasurer of the Hamilton school district. He served as Reeve of the Rural Municipality of Ochre River from 1954 to 1959. He was also an executive member of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities, and a board member of the Dauphin Consumer Co-operative. He died at Ste. Rose du Lac, Manitoba on 20 May 1959 and was buried in Ochre River.
