Farmer, municipal official.
Born on 25 November 1918 to Philip and Anne Duchek on the family homestead at Rossdale, he farmed all his life and also operated a market garden. In 1945 he married Mildred Anelia Sally Gusnoski (1921-2012), and they had four children.
He served on the board of the Manitoba Vegetable Commission, was elected councillor for the Rural Municipality. of St. Andrews in 1953, and served until 1975, at which time he became Reeve, retiring in 1989. He sat on the Clean Environment Commission for three years, and was one of the original directors of the Selkirk and District Planning Board. He was instrumental in the building of the St. Andrews Community Club/Arena.
He died at Selkirk on 27 June 2007 and was buried in the St. Mary’s Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery.
