Memorable Manitobans: Anne Maria Cowan (1855-1932)

Journalist.

Born at Lower Fort Garry on 20 September 1855, daughter of William Cowan, she wrote a number of articles on early Manitoba history for the Manitoba Free Press. She died at Winnipeg on 27 August 1932 and was buried in St. John’s Cemetery.
