Memorable Manitobans: George Albert Coulter (1865-1915)

Farmer, municipal official.

Born in Ontario on 13 April 1865, he was a councillor for the Rural Municipality of Cameron in 1905, in which capacity he attended the founding meeting in Brandon of the Union of Manitoba Municipalities. He was later Reeve of the municipality (1906). He and wife Margaret Etta Cowan (1870-1954) had one daughter, Mary Aileen Coulter (1891-?, wife of James Galbraith). He died at Hartney on 15 September 1915 and was buried in the Hartney Riverside Cemetery.
