Memorable Manitobans: In Whan “John” Chang (1931-1988)
Physician.
Born at Seoul, South Korea on 17 November 1931, he graduated from the Seoul National University in 1957, taking his internship at the Doctor’s Hospital in Washington, DC. In 1964, Chang came to Winnipeg to practice Obsetrics and Gynecology. He worked as the head of OB-GYN at Victoria General Hospital from 1970 to 1981 and served as a staff physician at St. Boniface Hospital until his death at Winnipeg on 20 December 1988.
