Memorable Manitobans: Thomas Carbutt (1872-1942)

Soldier, school board trustee.

Born at York, England on 22 July 1872, he came to Canada in 1904, and served overseas in the First World War with the Royal Canadian Engineers. Carbutt was a counsellor in Ward 3 and also trustee and secretary-treasurer of the Charleswood School Board. He died at Hollywood, California in June 1942.
