Hardware merchant.

Born near London, Ontario on 14 August 1855, brother to architect James Henry Cadham, he established a business at Port Dalhousie, Ontario before coming to Manitoba in 1882 and establishing the Cadham Hardware Company at Portage la Prairie. On 12 August 1879, he married Emma Smith Fox (1859-1933) at St. Catharines, Ontario and they subsequently had five children: Ann Laura Cadham (1888-1973, wife of Daniel Mowat Ormond), Thomas O. Cadham (1893-1920), John Charles “Jack” Cadham (1895-1978), Doris Emma Cadham (1899-1913), and James Allyn Cadham (1905-1907). He was at one time a member of the school board, and it is stated that he acted on the board during a serious crisis, and it was through his efforts the schools were kept open. He was also a member of the board of trade, and other service clubs, and took an interest in sports of all kinds. He also gave his assistance to the Portage General hospital, where he was a director for many years. He held various offices in St. Mary’s church. He died at Portage la Prairie on 15 February 1933 and was buried in the St. Mary’s la Prairie Anglican Cemetery. He is commemorated by Cadham Bay in Portage la Prairie.
