Memorable Manitobans: Georges Boily (1926-2019)

Farmer, building contractor, municipal official.

Born at La Broquerie on 20 February 1926, son of Pierre Boily and Rhéa Bois, he lived at La Broquerie for his entire life, working first on the familiy farm and later as a contractor specializing in agricultural and residential buildings. He later operated a metal recycling company in Winnipeg. In 1957, he married Béatrice Freynet and they had three children. He served on the municipal council and was Reeve of La Broquerie (1964-1971). He died on 12 December 2019.
