Memorable Manitobans: John Allison Bartley (1929-2006)Farmer, municipal official. Born at Roland on 4 June 1929, he lived and farmed most of his life there. He was elected a municipal councillor in 1980 and served for 12 years. During his time as a Reeve (1983-1995), he was a board member for the Carman Health District. He was icemaker and life member of the Roland Curling Club, first President of the Roland Golf Club (1977), and a member of the Roland United Church.
