Football player.
Born at Vancouver, British Columbia on 22 September 1944, son of Bob and Dora Heighton, he joined the BC Lions football club in 1969. He moved to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1970 and went on to become a CFL West All-Star four times. After ten years with the Bombers, he played with the Hamilton Tiger Cats (1979) and Montreal Alouettes (1980-1981). In recognition of his sporting prowess, he was inducted into the Blue Bombers Hall of Fame (2014) and Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame (2016). He died in British Columbia on 9 December 2023.
