Built in 1959, the elementary school opened in the East Kildonan School District. The building, designed by the Winnipeg architectural firm of Smith Carter Searle and Associates, consisted of an auditorium encircled by six classrooms and an office. The $120,000 school was opened officially on 19 November 1959 by School Board Chairman Louis Albert McMahon.
The school closed in June 1997 but it was reopened in September 1999 as an Adult Education Centre for the River East School Division under the leadership of a Director. Since 2002, it had been part of the River East Transcona School Division (RETSD) and also hosted the RETSDs Senior High Academic Re-entry Program (SHARP) as well as a daycare.
