This Winnipeg school was designed by Macdonald Cockburn McLeod McFeetors and built by the Taubensee Construction Company for the River East School Division with a ground-breaking ceremony held in January 1986. It was opened to around 500 students from kindergarten through grade six on 26 January 1987 and was a dual-track English and French immersion facility. Six temporary classrooms, designed by MCM Architects, were added to the rear of the school grounds in 1989-1990. Over the years, the school has hosted classes for grades K-6 (1986-1992), K-5 (1992-1995), K-6 (1995-2014), and K-5 (2014 onward). In 2002, it became part of the River East Transcona School Division.
