During the Second World War, this site in the Municipality of North Cypress-Langford was a relief landing field for the No. 33 Service Flying Training School near Carberry. Aircraft unable to land at the main runways came here. The triangular set of unpaved runways that once dominated the site, built at a cost of $135,363, have been removed and the land has been turned back to agricultural crops. The facility was among 23 airfields across Western Canada closed in June 1944 by the Federal Air Minister C. G. Power. No vestige of the relief field remains at the site today.
