Top Male and Female Athlete | Media Roll of Honour
Formed in 1955, the Manitoba Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association (MSSA) is an organization of Manitoba’s working and retired sports media members. The following year, it began recognizing the achievements of the province's top male and female athlete. A team category was added in 1985. The awards were presented at an annual dinner until 2017.
In 1986, the MSSA established its Media Roll of Honour to recognize the service and achievements of its past and present members. Long-standing writers, broadcasters and photographers are inducted annually into this hallowed hall by the MSSA. In 2023, the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame assumed curation of the MSSA’s Media Roll of Honour.
