Community activist.
Born at Winnipeg on 27 December 1931 to Myrtle Irene West (1904-1979) and Charles Francis O’Neill (1887-1952), she married Gordon Patterson (1926-1990) on 7 October 1948, and they went on to have three children.
Her interests and work were centered in business and the field of education. She served as a Trustee and Chairperson on the St. Boniface School Board; on the executive of the Manitoba Association of School Trustees; by appointment to the Manitoba Municipal Board, as well as several provincial boards; and was active in the Progressive Conservative Party. Together with her husband, she founded Green Acres Funeral Home and Cemetery, and Len Don Landscaping and Construction Limited.
An avid golfer, she was a member of Niakwa Country Club for over 30 years. She enjoyed travel, a winter home in Palm Springs, crossword puzzles, and playing cards.
She died at Winnipeg on 22 August 2012 and was buried in the Green Acres Memorial Gardens.
