Memorable Manitobans: Clifford Peter Hansen (1905-1986)

Educator.

Born at Eden Valley, Minnesota on 8 July 1905, his family moved to southeastern Saskatchewan in 1907. He later taught school at various places in rural Saskatchewan from 1921 to 1946 when he moved to Manitoba, farmed in the Dunkinville area, and taught at Minitonas. He served as the Principal of Minitonas School (1947-1970) then retired in 1970. In 1936, he married Agnes Laurie McLean at Carragana, Saskatchewan and had a son and three daughters. He was a Life Member of the Manitoba Teachers’ Society and a member of the Masons (Favel Lodge), Swan River Amateur Radio Club, and Swan River United Church. He died at Winnipeg on 28 October 1986 and was buried in the Minitonas Cemetery.
