The Galicia School District was organized formally in June 1898 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at SW29-17-3E in the Rural Municipality of Rockwood. It was renamed as Plum Ridge School District some time between January 1902 and December 1904. A new schoolhouse was built during the summer of 1916 by local contractor Michael Gottfried at a cost of $1,575. The district was dissolved in 1967 and its catchment area became part of the Interlake School Division.
