This 1½-storey wood frame, half timbered and stucco house at the northeast corner of Seven Oaks Avenue and Powers Street in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg), measuring 32 feet by 37 feet, was built in 1942 for owner James McShane Carphin, salesman at the H. J. Heinz Company.
At the time of a 2025 site visit, the house was slightly modified from its original appearance.
