Historic Sites of Manitoba: Aurora Block (567 Selkirk Avenue, Winnipeg)

This two-storey brick block on Selkirk Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 33 feet by 85 feet, was designed by civil engineer Herman Saltzman and built in 1914 by contractor Victor Rubin for owner George Kalichman at a cost of about $15,000. In its original configuration, the building had two retail spaces on the main floor and six residential apartments on the second floor.
