In May 1939, the former Maple Street Mission and hall of Point Douglas Presbyterian Church became the home of Pilgrim Baptist Church. The opening service was conducted by Reverend R. O. Johnson, Reverend A. A. Westcott of Broadway-First Church, Reverend J. Bailey of Tabernacle Baptist Church, and President of the Manitoba Baptist Convention George Robert Batho.
The building was later replaced by the present structure.
