A 40,000-bushel wooden grain elevator at Fairfax, on the CNR Hartney Subdivision in what is now the Municipality of Grassland, was built in 1928 by Manitoba Pool Elevators. In 1951, its capacity was increased with the addition of a balloon annex. Renovated in 1966, the elevator was closed in June 1981 and traded to Paterson Grain. It was demolished in 2000 along with the other Paterson elevator at this point.
