Customs broker.
Born at Toronto, Ontario on 27 December 1883, son of Alfred Young and Florence Crown Glazier, he came to Manitoba in 1902 and began working as a customs broker for the firm of John Davison Clark and Company. In 1907, he bought the business, renaming it George H. Young and Company (today’s GHY International), operating it until retirement in 1944. On 20 May 1903, he married Florence Emily Arnett (1883-1970) at Winnipeg and they had a son, George Donald Alfred Young (1903-?). He was a member of the AF & AM (St. Johns Lodge). He died at the Grace Hospital on 18 March 1956 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
