Memorable Manitobans: Alice Louise Hood Schultz (1915-2013)

Police officer.

Born at Winnipeg on 9 May 1915, she moved to Camper, Manitoba following her marriage to Carl Schultz. In 1954, they returned to Winnipeg where, the following year, she became one of the first four policewomen hired by the Winnipeg Police Force. After retirement in 1975, she worked as a Sheriff’s Officer for several years then, in 1980, she returned to Camper. She died at Lundar, Manitoba on 26 August 2013.
