Memorable Manitobans: Diana Eleanor Lawson Ryback (1942-2013)

Community activist.

Born at Ottawa, Ontario on 6 February 1942, daughter of John and Jessie Lawson, she moved to Winnipeg with her family in 1968, established a career in real estate, and became active in charitable causes and volunteer work. Her long-standing involvement with the Liberal Party of Canada including service as party president, a federal candidate, and political organizer. She was an active member of Westminster United Church where she served as Chair of the Board of Directors during the 1990s. In 1999, she retired and returned to Ottawa. She died at Sundridge, Ontario on 17 August 2013.
