Archer.
Born at Notre Dame de Lourdes on 11 April 1922 to Berthe Saelens (1903-1986) and Jean Baptiste Roziere (1897-1966), he married Eva Hazel Jeanne Lamarche (1924-2012) on 20 July 1946 and they went on to have six children.
Besides being the founder and owner of Andre Roziere Archery, where he manufactured equipment for the sport, and Silver Arrow Archery Lanes in the Silver Heights neighbourhood of Winnipeg, he was himself a champion archer. As a competitor, he won numerous championships at the provincial level beginning in 1959. The long list includes five aggregate target trophies and five free style field championships. Nationally, he dominated at the 1961, 1962, and 1963 Canadian Field Free Style Championships winning trophies emblematic of the International Free Style Championship and the Canadian Field Championship. In 1962 in Vancouver, he set a Canadian record in a round with a score of 728. The following year, when the championship was held at Fort Whyte, he established another Canadian record in the target event. In 1964, he was chosen to represent Canada at the World Championship in Sweden, and was selected as a Canadian Team Coach for the 1969 Championships at Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. He coached many champions in the 1960s and early 1970s, and later served as a Craft Instructor in manufacturing bows at Dominion City.
Administratively, he served as President of the Fort Whyte Archery Club and the Glenwood Shooters, and as the Manitoba Director for the Canadian Archery Association. In 1970, he was elected President of the Provincial Association.
His achievements were recognized by the Manitoba Sports Federation in 1971 and he was inducted into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame in 2019, only the second person in the sport to earn the honour.
He died at Winnipeg on 15 February 2012 and was buried in the Waverley Memorial Gardens.
