Real estate agent.
Born at Dominion City in 1939, one of five sons of Martha Edythe Cain (1903-1980) and William Henry Palmer (1888-1965), he was raised in that community and then moved on to 20 years of employment with Great West Life Assurance. He then co-founded Re/Max Real Estate in Winnipeg, and after spending 25 years with the company, opened Realty Executives First Choice.
He served as President of the Winnipeg Real Estate Board, volunteered for many years with the Boeing Track and Field organization as well as Winnipeg Optimist Athletics—Track and Field, and was instrumental in the founding of the Charleswood Rotary Club. He also founded the Housing Opportunity Partnership (HOP) in Winnipeg. After hearing about the successful implementation of this program in the United States, he was determined to offer the same benefits to those in Winnipeg who may not have fulfilled their dream of homeownership without such a program. He considered HOP to be his most gratifying accomplishment.
With his wife Valerie Coulter, he had two children and a step-daughter.
He died at Winnipeg on 19 September 2009.
