Artist.
Born in Poland on 11 May 1927, daughter of Aniela Ciura (1889-1966) and Kazimierz Ciura (1890-1972), she immigrated to Canada as an infant with her parents. While living in small Manitoba communities such as Glenella, McCreary, and Whitemouth, she was inspired to paint the natural scenery of the province.
She then moved to Winnipeg and studied art at St. Mary's Academy. Her talent earned her recognition in Manitoba's art community for many years, where she was often a participant in major exhibitions. Her painting of a Manitoba crocus was presented to Queen Elizabeth II during Her Majesty’s visit to Manitoba in 1970.
On 14 February 1953, she married Stanley Karwacki (1925-2015) and they had three children.
She died at Winnipeg on 7 February 2012 and was buried in the Brookside Cemetery.
