Memorable Manitobans: William “Bill” Floyde (1925-1995)Farmer, municipal official. Born at McCreary on 6 April 1925, brother of Leonard Floyde, he farmed for most of his life. Serving on the municipal council for 33 years, he was Reeve of the Rural Municipality of McCreary from 1987 to 1995. As Chairperson of the McCreary Heritage Advisory Committee, a log cabin formerly belonging to his grandparents was restored as a community heritage site. He died at Winnipeg on 18 September 1995 and was buried in the McCreary Cemetery. See also:
