Memorable Manitobans: Henry Royal Dwyer (1905-1996)Educator. Born on a farm in the RM of Gilbert Plains on 14 December 1905, son of Robert Dwyer and Martha Convery, he was the Principal of Inglis School (1934-1941), Makaroff School (1941-1948), Elm Creek School (1948-1952), Sperling School (1952-1955), Edmund Partridge School (1959-1964), and West Kildonan Collegiate (1964-1971). On 3 September 1932, he married Bernice Alexandra Holden at Dauphin. He died in August 1996 and was buried in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
