Manitoba Communities: Gilbert Plains (Municipality)

In 1884, Glenlyon Campbell rode his horse over the Riding Mountains and viewed what is now known as the Gilbert Plains. He found a couple living in a small log house, one of whom was Gilbert Ross, a Metis trapper for whom the area is named.
