Educator.
Born in 1932, son of Ambroise Victor Jean Deleurme (1897-1965) and Thérèse Germaine Faiziant-Lageat (1899-1944), his teaching career began in the 1950s at Beausale School. He then moved to St. Norbert, teaching there for many years, finishing as the Principal of a new school there. In 1971, he moved to St. Vital where he taught at Lavallee School. He established the French immersion program in the St. Vital School Division and later became Assistant Superintendent. He crowned his career as a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of St. Boniface. In recognition of his service, he received Le Prix Riel (1988). He died unmarried at St. Norbert on 30 April 2021 and was buried in the Notre Dame de Lourdes Roman Catholic Old Cemetery. He is commemorated by the Rene Deleurme Centre at Lavallee School.
