Educator.
Born at Morden on 22 January 1936, the fourth child of George I. Brown (?-?) and Lena Heide (1895-1946), he attended Maple Leaf School where, in sixth grade, he met fellow pupil Bernice Hamm. He worked for the railway to pay his rent while enrolled at the University of Manitoba, from which he graduated with BA (1957) and BEd (1962) degrees.
On 8 August 1959, by which time Bernice Hamm was teaching, he married her and they had two children. In the St. James School Division (later St. James - Assiniboia School Division), he taught at Silver Heights Collegiate (1960s) and served as Vice-Principal of Jameswood School (1968-1969) and Principal of Woodhaven School (1969-1973), Robert Browning School (1973-1980), Jameswood School (1980-1985), and Athlone School (1985-1990).
He died at Winnipeg on 8 September 2016 and was buried in the Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens.
