Educator.
Born at Oak River on 5 December 1907, daughter of Florence McKay (1883-?) and Christopher George Sparling (1873-?), she graduated from Normal School (1924). Her career in education included teaching at Beausejour School (1925-1926), Lockport School (1929-1932, Principal), St. Andrews School (1932-1936), West St. Paul School (1937-1942, 1948-1959), and elsewhere in the region of Parkdale.
On 28 December 1940, she married Clifford Beaton (1909-1977) at Winnipeg where they initially resided at 373 Broadway in Winnipeg and had a son; Robert Sparling “Bob” Beaton (c1942-1996). She returned to West St. Paul School as a teacher and later worked as its Secretary until her retirement in 1972.
She died at the Kildonan Personal Care Home in Winnipeg on 31 December 1996 and was buried in the Glen Eden Memorial Gardens.
