Historic Sites of Manitoba: Transcona Centennial Monument (117 Regent Avenue East, Winnipeg)

A monument on Regent Avenue East in Winnipeg, beside Transcona Branch No. 7 of the Royal Canadian Legion, commemorates a ceremony held at this site on 12 April 2012 attended by Lieutenant Governor Philip Siu Lun “Phil” Lee, Premier Gregory Francis “Greg” Selinger, Member of Parliament Lawrence Toet, Mayor Sam Katz, River East Transcona School Division Chair Peter Kotyk, and Canadian National Railways Director Heather Lamb. A plaque was placed here in September 2012 by City Councillor Russ Wyatt and members of the Legion’s Transcona Centennial Steering Committee: Barb Culbertson, Reta Heintz, Peter Martin, Darcy Robert, Murray Rougeau, Dave Stewart, and Denise Young.
