In 1920, a local Union Church at Rivers, in what is now the Municipality of Riverdale, was formed by the amalgamation of Rivers Methodist Church and Knox Presbyterian Church, with the latter’s building being used for services. It became the Rivers United Church following formal church union in 1925.
Honour rolls inside the church lists parishioners of Rivers Methodist Church, Knox Presbyterian Church, and Pettapiece United Church who were killed during military service in the First World War and Second World War.
