A monument in Hamiota was erected in commemoration of soldiers from the local area killed during military service. It was unveiled at a ceremony on 27 September 1921, speakers at which included MLA John H. McConnell and Brigadier-General Hugh Marshall Dyer. A set of three commemorative plaques, developed with support of Hamiota Municipality, Hamiota Lions Club, and Veterans Affairs, was dedicated in 2016.
