A monument in Elm Creek in the Rural Municipality of Grey was designed and erected by Joseph Billings of the Carman Granite and Marble Works. It was dedicated in 1927 in memory of veterans of the First World War who lost their lives in battle. A second plaque was added for lost veterans in the Second World War, and dedicated at a ceremony on 17 August 1947.
