Historic Sites of Manitoba: Martin and Robertson Warehouse / Sinclair Grocery Warehouse/ City of Winnipeg Archives (50 Myrtle Street, Winnipeg)

This one-storey building on Myrtle Street in Winnipeg was built originally as a warehouse for Martin and Robertson Limited, a wholesale grocery business. In 1958, the building was acquired by J. M. Sinclair Limited, a wholesale grocery business that had relocated from its former warehouse on Princess Street acquired in 1945 when it purchased one of western Canada’s largest wholesale grocers, Campbell Brothers and Wilson.

In 2013, following extensive water damage of the former Carnegie Library, the City of Winnipeg opened this archival facility to which collections were moved.
