Historic Sites of Manitoba: Burrows Court (230 Salter Street, Winnipeg)

This three-storey brick and stone apartment block on the northwest corner of Salter Street and Burrows Avenue in Winnipeg, measuring 89 feet by 61 feet, was designed by Samuel Hooper, assisted by his son John Simpson Hooper, and constructed in 1911 by owner Harry Hirsh at an estimated cost of $35,000. In 1940, repairs were completed by contractor Aaron Akman at a cost of about $10,000.

In early 1980, after standing vacant for some time, the building was demolished. The site is now occupied by a commercial building.
