Commissioned by the Baldur Consolidated School District No. 667, the Baldur Elementary School was a six-classroom facility built in 1960-1961. It replaced capacity previously had at the Baldur School / Baldur Collegiate and an open house took place on 28 August 1961, with classes to begin two days later. In January 1971, the district became part of the Tiger Hills School Division and, following the closure of Baldur Collegiate in the summer of 1976, all local K-12 classroom instruction was consolidated at this site under the name of Baldur School.

A nearby monument commemorates the Baldur District Schools.
