The cornerstone of Ashland School, on Ashland Avenue in Winnipeg, was laid in a ceremony on 2 November 1951 and a one-storey structure measuring 194 feet by 60 feet was built at a cost of about $120,000. The school closed in 1982 and, as of 1993, the building now hosts a Diagnostic Learning Centre of the Winnipeg School Division.
