Historic Sites of Manitoba: Aberr Apartments (363 Mountain Avenue, Winnipeg)

This three-storey brick and stone apartment blocks at the northwest corner of Mountain Avenue and Aikins Street in Winnipeg was one of two blocks designed by local architect Peter Cornelius Samwell and constructed in 1910 by contractor John Edward Wilson. Each building measured 72 feet long by 29 feet wide and contined 13 residential apartments. The southern block on Mountain was named Bieldy and the northern block on Aikins was Aberr.

The building was badly damaged in a fire on 13 August 2023 and was demolished on 26 August 2024.
