MLA (1986-1988), MLA (1988-1990), MLA (1990-1995), Senator.

Born at Halifax, Nova Scotia on 26 April 1942, she became Leader of the Manitoba Liberal Party in 1984. Defeated in a 1984 by-election to the Manitoba Legislative Assembly, she was elected in the 1986 general election. She was re-elected in 1988 and 1990, and was Leader of the Official Opposition until mid-1993. She resigned when appointed to the Canadian Senate and served there until 2011.
