Historic Sites of Manitoba: Pioneer School No. 1563 (Municipality of West Interlake)

The Pioneer School District was established in May 1911 and a one-room schoolhouse operated at SW29-24-7W in the Rural Municipality of Siglunes. In 1936, the district was dissolved and its catchment area became part of the Woodlea Municipal School District. The original district was re-formed in March 1958 and operated until 1967 it joined the Lakeshore School Division. The former school building is no longer present at the site and another building has replaced it.
