Formerly located at the northeast corner of Partridge Avenue and Aikins Street in West Kildonan (now part of Winnipeg), this site was purchased in 1933 by lumber merchant and fuel dealer Charles C. Chick who relocated his business, the Chick Lumber and Fuel Company, from the corner of Luxton Avenue and Main Street.
The site contained a coal storage bin, lumber shed, cement storage building, and a two-storey woodwork and lumber storage warehouse. Lumber and coal were delivered by railway cars via a spur line of the Canadian Pacific Railway Winnipeg Beach Subdivision, which ran next to the site, while the office and store were located in a separate building on Main Street.
By 1997, the business was bankrupt. The building was demolished and the land was sold. The site is now partly occupied by a car wash while the other part is vacant.
