Memorable Manitobans: Arthur Wickson (1846-1928)

Banker.

Born in Ontario in 1846, he came to Winnipeg in 1883. Active in city financial circles, he was Manager of the Merchants Bank for nearly 25 years. He had five children: Walter Wickson, Rupert C. Wickson (1885-?), Gordon Albert Wickson (1888-?), John A. Wickson (1890-?), and Agnes Isobel Wickson (1899-?). He was a founding member, in 1905, of the St. Charles Country Club. He died at Vancouver, British Columbia on 17 April 1928.
