Credit union leader.
Born at Serafenci, Western Ukraine on 3 April 1893, he attended the University of Prague, graduating in 1924. He came to Canada in 1927, and in 1930 he organized the Kalyna Ukrainian Co-operative Limited in Winnipeg. In 1940 he organized the Carpathia Credit Union Limited, which employed him from 1940 to 1974, and he assisted in the organization of many other credit unions in Manitoba. He was active in the Ukrainian War Veterans Association and the Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre. In recognition of his community service, he was awarded a Manitoba Centennial Medal (1970) and a Shevchenko Medal (1974). He died at the Health Sciences Centre on 7 November 1978 and was buried in the All Saints Cemetery.
